Awarded to
Theresa Winters
From Santander
"This is a very special award which seeks to
recognise someone who has been truly
inspirational," says Deborah Garlick, CEO of
Menopause Friendly and organiser of the
Awards.
"Theresa has shown incredible determination
and resilience. Three years ago, aged 51, Theresa
had no idea whether she was experiencing the
menopause or not. Like so many women she felt
alone and helpless.
What she did was to demonstrate incredible
determination in researching what her
organisation, Santander, needed to do to
support women like her. In so doing, she found
a passion and a mission to support the wellbeing
of all those going through the menopause. This
zeal, strength of purpose and desire to make
changes are exactly the qualities which were so
evident in Carolyn, the inspirational woman after
whom this award is named.
"Theresa has demonstrated a tireless
commitment to this cause which has resulted in
a most significant impact by creating a safe
environment for people to talk about the
menopause. Her drive became infectious as
others sought to embrace her approach and
normalise the menopause within Santander. She
has been truly inspirational and her win is very
well-deserved."
